At the request of several operators, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) on Tuesday said it had extended the deadline for submissions on the draft Radio Frequency Spectrum Assignment Plan to January 28, 2015.

The plan, which was published on November 14, aimed to specify the technical conditions for the use of the frequency bands.

The regulator called on stakeholders to comment on the rules for services operating in each frequency band.
