Helping companies to understand the Carbon Tax Act

10th October 2019

Training that assists companies to better understand and comply with the newly implemented Carbon Tax Act, is now available.

The Carbon Tax Act commenced in June 2019 and aims to impose a tax on carbon dioxide equivalent greenhouse gas emissions and address related matters.

The training programme aims to help companies understand the practical implications of the Carbon Tax Act and how to change company behaviour in order to lower carbon emissions.

Services such as conducting an analysis of a company’s emissions and pollutants to establish its carbon footprint, are also available. In addition, production processes in industries such as mining and manufacturing can be assessed and strategies to reduce negative environmental impacts can be designed.

Waste management solutions are also available, as well as advice on how to establish off-set projects such as purchasing credits by investing in renewable energy, solar lighting or initiatives to reduce pollution.

The training has been developed by 5inc, a company that focusses on carbon management, waste transformation and socio-development project implementation. The company is partnering with other carbon strategists in an effort to assist clients to understand and comply with the Act and to potentially reduce companies’ tax liabilities by lowering emissions.
