Hanoi Line 3 is the second metro line under construction in the city and will be 12.5 km long.

The project will comprise 12 stations and one depot at Nhon for train maintenance.

The line will carry 8 600 people per hour per direction once completed. This capacity will be progressively increased within ten years once operations start.

Latest Developments
Alstom, as leader of a consortium with Colas Rail and Thales, has signed a contract with MRB to supply a metro system for Hanoi metro Line 3.

Alstom’s share of the contract is estimated at €190-million.

Alstom will supply and integrate the metro system, which comprises ten Metropolis trainsets and Urbalis 400 – Alstom’s communication-based train control solution that controls train movement, enabling the trainsets to run at higher frequencies and speeds in total safety.

Alstom will also be responsible for the power supply and depot equipment together with Colas Rail.
