South Africa’s Finance Minister, Nhlanhla Nene, has to navigate some treacherous obstacles as he seeks to help restore confidence in the country’s underperforming economy. However, his recent admission that domestic problems lie at the heart of many of the current problems at least means that he does not have to find his way in the dark.
