The project reached financial close in May.

Wärtsilä will build the facility under a turnkey contract. In addition to supplying the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the terminal, Wärtsilä is also joining the project through a minority investment through Wärtsilä Development & Financial Services in Hamina LNG Oy. The main shareholders are Hamina Energy and Estonian energy company Alexela.
