Government has appointed Q LINK Holdings to investigate the extent and abuse of emolument attachment orders (EAOs) for credit in the public service, which includes national and provincial spheres of government.

It would also implement an ongoing process for the management of EAOs to ensure that illegally issued EAOs could not be enforced against public servants.

This project fit together with the work undertaken by the Department of Public Service and Administration in terms of its mandate from the Committee of Ministers responsible for collective bargaining in the public service to implement the Public Service Employee Debt Relief Programme, which aimed to relieve public servants of their high level of indebtedness.
