The Gautrain Management Agency (GMA) has published a request for proposals (RfP) for a transaction adviser to develop a detailed feasibility study for the procurement of the Gautrain Rapid Link system.

The current concession agreement will expire in 2026.

The GMA has advised it will also consider new investment opportunities and improved service offerings for the Gautrain as part of the feasibility study.

The agency has specified it wants to appoint a multidisciplinary transaction adviser team with skills and experience in public-private partnerships, as well as the technical and operational aspects of passenger rail.

Legal, commercial, financial, economic and transformation expertise is also required to assist the GMA with this process.

The adviser may also be required to assist with the procurement phase, pending the outcome of the feasibility study.

The GMA will host an informative briefing on the tender on May 14 and bidders are required to indicate their attendance two days before, at tenderenquiries@gautrain.co.za.

Tender documents are available at https://eprocurement.gautrain.co.za.

The closing date for RfPs is June 4.
