PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Junior explorer GBM Resources has signed on a Chinese partner to hunt for a variety of resources in Australia.

The ASX-listed company announced on Friday that it had inked a nonbinding cooperation agreement with China’s Jiangxi Centre Mining Company to establish a relationship to accelerate mineral exploration and development in Australia.

GBM executive chairperson Peter Thompson noted that the cooperation agreement established a new business partner relationship, which would create an environment of mutual cooperation between the two enterprises.

Jiangzi Centre Mining is a business unit of the Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Coal Geology, which is actively engaged in mineral exploration, development, engineering construction and property development. The company’s focus is on coal, coal-bed methane, gas, vanadium, copper, gold, rare earths and iron-ore.

GBM is building a portfolio of gold projects in Malaysia and Australia.
