Genlogic has facilities in Johannesburg Mauritius and Tanzania and its equipment is designed in Africa, for Africa. Central to Genlogic's ethos is product innovation and superior customer support. In this light the company is a preferred supplier for clients requiring reliable and cost-competitive power solutions in challenging environments.

Further, the company has a flexible operational capability which allows the business to design and support new and existing customers  throughout Africa, giving credence to its strategic objective of 'putting the power in your hands'.

Genlogic designs and manufactures components and assembles generators in its Johannesburg facilities. Furthermore it supports, services and maintains its equipment with a production facility in Port Louis, Mauritius and a service centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Forge Group CEO Chris Riley says: “We are very pleased to be partnering with Genlogic management in their next phase of growth to extend our foothold into Africa, with more than 90% of their revenue being generated from outside South Africa. Genlogic’s strong reputation for energy efficient hybrid power solutions was the catalyst for us to form a partnership with them”. Forge Group’s industrial division currently comprises Toolquip and Allied and F&H Machine Tools, which distribute  engineering consumables, tool accessories and hand tools as well as machining centres, and Belt Brokers, a supplier and manufacturer of industrial conveyer belting and related components. In addition to the industrial division Forge Group’s commercial division comprises TecsaReco, which is a leading distributor of commercial refrigeration, air conditioning and appliance parts.

Genlogic chief executive Craig Silver says Forge Group is an excellent fit for Genlogic. “We share a common vision with Forge Group to provide products manufactured in Africa to world-class standards. Genlogic has long been regarded as delivering high quality, dependable products and responsive customer service." He adds that this new growth opportunity will enable Genlogic to leverage Forge Group's established expertise and resources while retaining the specialist nature and entrepreneurial approach of the business.

Riley concludes that Forge Group will continue to expand and build critical mass through strategic acquisitions in its focus areas. “Strategically growing the group provides increasing opportunity for expansion, customer satisfaction and retention,” he says.
