Fog fluid product highlighted to prevent corrosion

INDUSTRIAL PRESERVATION Cortec Corporation asserts that the latest iteration of its fogging fluid is well-equipped to address the challenge of corrosion in industrial equipment

Global corrosion protection company Cortec Corporation highlights that its CorroLogic VpCI-339 fogging fluid is fast, effective and convenient in addressing the challenges of corrosion in equipment, piping and structures with void spaces.

This fogging fluid protects void spaces, complex internal cavities, double wall spaces, pipes, heat exchangers and modules, and can be applied within the transportation and deep storage of key assets.

The company notes that these areas cannot be protected by only applying a coat of protective paint or a rust preventive oil.

It adds that its fogging fluid can deliver corrosion inhibiting vapours to enclosures that are difficult to access. The company adds that these vapours diffuse throughout the space and absorb on metal surfaces, creating a protective molecular layer. The vapour is said to be able to replenish itself if disturbed and continues working even if a void is briefly opened for inspection, making it suitable for extremely large void spaces.

The company asserts that the fogging fluid is adaptable to a variety of industrial preservation settings as it can add protection to both ferrous and nonferrous metals, including carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminium and copper. This fogging fluid can also be applied to complex internal cavities and other structural voids.

“Fogging heat exchangers and piping on new oil and gas modules or at mothballed facilities are two prime examples of how it can be used to great benefit for successful transportation and deep storage of key assets. It can also be fogged into boxes, crates and shrouded packages of metal goods ready to be shipped and preserved,” the company adds.

Research and development underscores Cortec’s efforts to innovate with the latest iteration of its fogging fluid said to be soluble in both water and hydrocarbons. The company concludes that these innovations could allow industrial facilities to become more productive.
