Project Description
The project has been selected as a preferred bidder in the fourth round of the Department of Energy’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme.

The project involves the construction of a wind farm, about 30 km south-west of Swellendam, in the Western Cape, with a nameplate capacity of 32.5 MW and a contracted capacity of 31.9 MW.

The proposed project will be located on an estimated 2 400 ha and will comprise 13 turbines of 2.5 MW each and a hub height of 90 m. The on-site Excelsior substation will connect to the Vryheid substation at a voltage of 132 kV.
