Global construction equipment and compact machinery manufacturer Wacker Neuson plans to further expand its stand at next year’s Nampo agricultural trade show, which will be located in the middle of the new expanded area, close to the southern gate.
Wacker Neuson was allocated its largest stand, about 4.5 times larger than its previous stand, to showcase its equipment at this year’s Nampo, which was held in Bothaville, in the Free State, from May 13 to 16.
“Nampo is an important event for Wacker Neuson because it is the biggest agricultural show in Africa. It draws a significant number of attendees over four days – mainly farmers who want to invest in equipment that will help them improve their efficiencies and reduce costs.
“Nampo is the perfect platform to meet existing and potential clients, and showcase what our company can offer the agriculture sector. I do not think there is any other way to meet so many potential customers in such a short time,” asserts Wacker Neuson national sales manager Marc Carter.
He notes that the company first attended Nampo in 2010 and has had a stand every year.
Carter enthuses that this location will “result in more passing traffic and a lot more brand exposure to visitors.
“We are planning to put up a more permanent structure to cater for and welcome visitors to our stand. In addition, we are planning to have a demonstration area where equipment will be used and customers can drive and operate some of the machines we have on offer,” he says.
Carter adds that the company also intends to have a greater selection of attachments used on its equipment on display. “The demand for equipment that can be used for multiple applications on farms has increased dramatically over the last few years, as farmers are under increasing pressure to reduce costs. With many different attachments available, we believe that our machines can meet demand in this sector,” he asserts.
Wacker Neuson skid steer loaders, compact excavators, all-wheel steer loaders, telescopic-boom all-wheel steer loaders and telescopic handlers meet the needs of South Africa’s widely diversified agricultural applications.
Farm sustainability and profitability depend on reduced operational and input costs, which, he says, is “where the real strength of our compact equipment lies: machines delivering what farmers want – maximum productivity with minimum input costs. The ideal unit performs reliably and efficiently, is easy to use, needs little maintenance and is inexpensive to operate,” argues Wacker Neuson regional president Eugene Brown.
In addition to a wide selection of attachments, Wacker Neuson machines deliver compact solutions for virtually any agricultural application, from stacking bales and clearing bush to loading trucks and drilling holes for fencing, and have proven to be more than a match for South Africa’s agricultural conditions, he adds.
Brown points out that the comprehensiveness of the range is another fundamental strength. “Our largest Wacker Neuson 1150 wheel loader, for example, will make light work of any application that requires an overload height of more than 3 m, while our smaller 350 wheel loader is a reliable and versatile everyday helper on the farm. This economical unit is ideal for applications such as mucking out barns and cleaning feeding corridors. Farmers have reported substantial yearly savings on diesel because of the unit’s low fuel consumption.”
He notes that equipment sales outside South Africa are increasing. “In Namibia, for instance, Wacker Neuson’s all-wheel steer loaders and telescopic handlers are used with great success for scrub clearing to unlock overgrown, valuable farm land.” The 750T telescopic-boom all-wheel steer loaders, load shredded scrub onto trucks, undeterred by the stresses of multiple high-frequency loading cycles and extremely hot and dusty conditions.
