EOH expands Africa, Middle East footprint

To expand into new territories in the Middle East and Africa, local technology company EOH has acquired a stake of 50% or higher in six information and communications technology companies in the region.

The acquisitions would serve as a base for EOH to grow “aggressively” in these territories, both organically and through further acquisitions.

The companies in which EOH had bought an interest were Consol Systems and BC Skills, in Morocco; information technologies consultancy firm Acron and Conzumevi, in Turkey; Acron, in Iran; and EBS, in Mozambique.

EOH now had over 1 000 employees based outside of South Africa.

In addition, the company had established offices in the United Arab Emirates aimed at serving the Middle East and Africa region.

EOH further reported on Tuesday that its growth for the six-month period to January 31 was expected to be positive, with significant year-on-year growth in revenue, profit and headline earnings a share.

Its interim results would be published on March 9.
