Engineers without Borders

26th July 2016

The mission of Engineers Without Borders South Africa is to solve real world problems, by taking advantage of the skills of those in the Engineering field. We are passionate about making a significant impact in South African communities. However, large scale impact requires more than small-scale community development projects.

Engineers are commonly considered key contributors to a developing society. As EWB-SA, we believe that engineers are drivers of the development of Africa. To realize this calling, we need to foster an engineering sector in which people can live out their passion, unfold their potential, and work with ultimate compassion.

The Dream Brew is about gathering such a community of engineers, that want to live their dreams through what they do. The format of the evening will be casual and social, created for (but not exclusive to) young, technical people from different walks of life. We are hosting four truly inspirational speakers that will share their story, namely: Adriana Marais (MarsOne), John McInroy (The Unogwaja Challenge), Felix Holm (Maker Station) and Wiebke Toussaint (EWB-SA). The evening will be the first of many, aimed at igniting a connection between like minded people, who are passionate about using their technical experience and expertise to make a real difference in Africa.

The event details are as follows: 1 August 2016, 18h30pm, Beerhouse, Long Street, Cape Town. Tickets are available at: ewbsa.org
