Engineering News Online rebooted

Creamer Media unveiled its new-look Engineering News Online website on May 9 – a reboot that forms part of ongoing efforts to improve the website’s delivery of ‘real economy news in real time’.

The re-engineered site simplifies the reader experience with a homepage that features bolder headlines, clearer abstracts and content that is curated throughout the working week to ensure readers remain ‘up to the minute’ with the issues and developments shaping the South African business landscape.

The reinvigorated site includes access to Engi-neering News Online’s latest multimedia content, produced daily to enrich the news experience. The search function has been simplified and the sector-focus pages have been overhauled to improve access to, and visibility of, the industries that underpin South Africa’s real economy, from automotive and energy to chemicals and metals.

Engineering News Online has redesigned its Press Office to provide participating companies with a more direct and more visible channel to Engineering News Online’s community of readers.

The new Press Office template, with customis-able colorations, enables companies to group together news developments and press releases concerning their activities, as well as provides a company profile, company contact information and quick access to the company’s website and social media links, including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

Creamer Media has also reinvigorated Engineering News Online’s popular free daily email service, which is delivered to over 60 000 email inboxes every day of the working week. In addition, the mobi-site, as well as the Android and iPhone Apps, have been reignited to ensure readers are able to stay in touch, even when they are on the move.

Subscribers will continue to have full access to our digital archive, which includes content from the weekly Engineering News and Mining Weekly magazines, as well as access to an advanced search function that is effective and easy to use.

Commenting on the significance of the relaunch, Creamer Media CEO Kenneth Creamer says: “We are confident that the re-engineered, redesigned and reinvigorated Engineering News Online website will improve our news delivery platform and will enhance reader experience. Creamer Media recently hit an important mile-stone: over 500 000 unique browsers in a single month reading our news and research content across our various online platforms. With the rebooted Engineering News Online website, I think our readership will continue to grow – the sky is the limit.”
