VANCOUVER (miningweekly.com) – West Africa-focused gold producer Endeavour Mining has appointed Vincent Benoit to the newly created position of executive VP, CFO and corporate development officer, effective November 1.

The company on Tuesday announced that the former executive VP for strategy and business development would take over from outgoing CFO Ota Hally, and oversee finance, strategy, corporate development and investor relations.

Since the start of the year, Endeavour has eliminated four positions from its board. Executive VP for corporate development Douglas Bowlby and executive VP for technical services Richard Thomas have also stepped down from their roles and will not be replaced.

Endeavour on Monday also announced the appointment of Livia Mahler and Olivier Colom as independent nonexecutive directors, effective October 1.

Endeavour added that, as part of its optimisation efforts, the company is also announcing the relocation of its corporate functions from its Vancouver, Paris and Monaco offices to a new corporate office in London. This follows the recently completed relocation of the company's operations office from Accra, in Ghana, to Abidjan, in Côte d'Ivoire, where COO Attie Roux, executive VP for projects Jeremy Langford, executive VP for exploration and growth Patrick Bouisset and their teams are now based, allowing for greater collaboration and closer proximity to the company’s core West African operations.
