enCore restarts Rosita ISR uranium plant

NYSE American- and TSX-V-listed enCore Energy has restarted the previously producing Rosita central processing plant (CPP), marking the first step in the company’s south Texas production pipeline strategy using the in-situ recovery production process.

The first shipment of yellowcake is set to occur over the next 45 to 60 days, the miner said on Thursday.

“It is with great satisfaction that in less than 20 months’ time, the enCore team completed the refurbishment and upgrading of the Rosita CPP from long-term cold standby to monitor well ring installation, wellfield pattern and infrastructure installation, and construction of a new satellite IX facility,” said CEO Paul Goranson.

The Rosita CPP has a capacity to produce 800 000 lb/y of U3O8 and has the ability to expand capacity within the existing licence. The Rosita CPP is designed to process uranium feed from multiple satellite operations, all located in the south Texas area and is one of 11 licenced uranium processing plants in the US, three of which are owned by enCore.

Goranson noted that enCore was the first uranium producer in Texas in ten years and the newest uranium producer in the US.
