ELB Successfully Commission Gamsberg Ore Handling System

The completion of the main construction activities and commissioning of the front-end ore crushing, handling and stockpiling system during the month of July 2018 by ELB Engineering Services (Pty) Ltd (ELB) and their business partners for the Gamsberg Zinc Mine Project in the Northern Cape for the Black Mountain Complex, part of the Vedanta Resources Group, is a significant milestone.

This achievement is significant in supporting the phased completion of the construction and commissioning of the 4mtpa zinc concentrator, in achieving design throughput during the initial commissioning thereof.

“Considering that the blasting for the foundation of the crushing station was undertaken on 20 July 2017, this has been a momentous achievement by the project team,” says Dr. Stephen Meijers, CE of ELB.
