JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Aim-listed Edenville Energy is embarking on the next phase of development at its Rukwa coal project, in western Tanzania, as it acquires a coal washing plant and crusher and appoints a wash plant engineer.

The start of the process to ship and assemble the wash plant, in anticipation of starting coal production, will follow the company’s March 17 annual general meeting, during which resolutions to complete the acquisition will be sought.

“The wash plant is an integral part of the process to maximise the Rukwa coal deposit's potential and we are confident we have selected a suitable system.

“Additionally, having an engineer who has extensive experience with these types of plants gives us the added confidence that the construction and commissioning can be well managed,” said Edenville CEO Rufus Short in an update to shareholders on Thursday.

The modular wash plant is based on a dense media separation system and will enable several different product specifications to be produced to allow the maximum flexibility in providing a suitable product for customers.

The coal crusher plant to prepare and size the run-of-mine coal is expected to ship alongside the wash plant.
