JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Aim-listed Edenville Energy, which is developing the Rukwa coal-to-power project, in Tanzania, has appointed Dr Jeff Malaihollo nonexecutive chairperson, effective September 1.

He succeeds former chairperson Sally Schofield who resigned in April, citing personal reasons.

Edenville CEO Rufus Short stepped in as acting chairperson in the meantime.

Malaihollo is a geologist with over 22 years of technical, management and entrepreneurial experience in the mining sector.  He is currently MD of ASX-listed Arc Exploration and a director of TSX-V-listed Copper Lake Resources and of private companies Equator Gold and Sarinah Resources.

Malaihollo also has experience as an investment banking mining analyst, as well as having worked as a geologist for several mining companies including Rio Tinto and Newcrest Mining.

He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Geological Society of London.

“I am delighted to welcome Jeff to the board of Edenville. Jeff brings significant corporate and mining experience and we look forward to his assistance and guidance through the next stage of Edenville's development,” Short said on Wednesday.
