Eaton Introduces Dura-Kote™ Plating Technology for Enhanced Corrosion Resistance on Carbon Steel Fluid Conveyance Products

12th December 2014

Company Announcement - Power management company Eaton today announced the launch of Dura-KoteTM plating technology, which delivers a significantly higher level of corrosion resistance for Eaton’s carbon steel fluid conveyance products. Eaton’s carbon steel fluid conveyance products have been rated for up to 1,000 hours of corrosion resistance, far exceeding Society of Automotive Engineers J514 standards. The plating technology has been tested in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials B117 salt spray requirements.

Dura-Kote plating technology provides up to three times more protection compared to earlier generations of plating—without changing the look, feel or performance of Eaton’s carbon steel fluid conveyance products. The products designed with this technology are commonly used in oil and gas, construction, agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and transportation.

“We recognize customers with operations in harsh environments demand the most reliable performance from their fluid conveyance products. We’re delivering technology that better resists corrosion and helps avoid the expense of downtime,” said Canan Myers, product manager, Metals, Eaton.

In addition to keeping machinery running, Dura-Kote plating technology helps maintain the appearance of the equipment. Looks do matter, and equipment that appears rusted often forces companies to repair or replace components that have years of service remaining, incurring unnecessary maintenance costs.
“By improving corrosion resistance and simplifying the order process with Dura-Kote plating standard on most fluid conveyance products, Eaton is truly working to bring customers product and platform innovations that make them more successful,” Myers added.
