DRDGold appoints chartered accountant to board

JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed DRDGold has appointed chartered accountant Johan Holtzhausen as an independent nonexecutive director of the company.  

Holtzhausen, who held a Bachelor of Science degree from the Stellenbosch University and a Bachelor of Accounting Science Honours degree from the University of South Africa, boasted over 42 years experience in the accounting profession.

He was a senior partner at professional services firm KPMG and held the highest accreditation level required to service clients on stock exchanges in the US.

Other clients included major corporations listed in South Africa, Canada, the US, the UK and Australia.

Holtzhausen currently served as an independent director and audit and risk committee chairperson for the Tourism Enterprise Partnership, a South African small business development agency funded by a public–private partnership.

He also chaired the audit and risk committee of emerging South African manganese miner Tshipi e Ntle Manganese Mining Proprietary, while concurrently occupying the position of audit and risk committee chairperson and nonexecutive director of triple-listed Caledonia Mining Corporation.
