Engineering group DRA International has acquired Quebec-based consulting firm Met-Chem Canada from UEC Technologies for an undisclosed sum.

DRA, which on Wednesday said Met-Chem’s particular strengths in mining and geology made it an “excellent” fit for the multidisciplinary global engineering group, would retain the Montréal office, from which it would continue to service clients in Québec, Eastern Canada, North Africa and West Africa, among others.

“DRA continues to expand its business in the Americas and the acquisition of Met-Chem is a logical next step for our growth in this region," said DRA Americas CEO Wray Carvelas.

“This acquisition allows us to offer enhanced services to our existing mining and mineral clients and we look forward to servicing new clients in the Americas and other French-speaking regions within Africa, with our expanded capabilities.”
