Djelfa cement plant, Algeria.

Project Description
The project entails the construction of a greenfield integrated cement manufacturing plant, with a capacity of 3,2-million tons a year in the central region of Djelfa, some 300 km south of the capital, Algiers.

The plant will feature two production lines, each with a capacity of 4 500 t/d.

The project will be implemented in two phases. Phase one of the project will yield 1,6-million tons a year, with 3,2-million tons of cement expected at full capacity.

Value
The project has an estimated cost of $579-million.

Duration
Initial cement production is scheduled to take place in 2011, with full production scheduled for 2013.

Client
Asec Ciment Algerie, a joint subsidiary of Cairo-based Asec Cement, and Citadel Capital.
