Denmark’s Kamstrup takes first steps into Iran

Company Announcement - Danish smart meter solutions provider Kamstrup has confirmed its first order in Iran. The order of 6,000 intelligent water meters comes less than two weeks after the EU lifted sanctions against the Middle Eastern nation. Earlier this month, Danish Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen said that Danish companies have a big role to play in providing solutions to help Iran manage its water resources and develop its renewable energy sector. His comments came after he had led a Danish trade delegation, of which Kamstrup was part of, that met with Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian in Tehran to discuss the solutions Danish companies could provide.

As one of the world’s leading suppliers of intelligent metering solutions, Kamstrup is well equipped to help the Persian state enhance the operation of its energy infrastructure and the management of its water resources, according to Danish Fareed, Kamstrup’s General Manager of Heat, Cooling and Water meters in Dubai.

“We look forward to working together with utilities and our partners in Iran to help them optimize their operations and address the challenges they’re facing. Our complete range of smart metering solutions meets Iran’s needs and enables them to service their communities on a complete new level”, says Danish Fareed. The smart meter to be supplied for this order is the MULTICAL® 21, an ultrasonic intelligent water meter which is extremely durable and provides unrelentingly accurate readings. As well as having the newest radio technology and wireless data communication, it also has built in sensitive leak monitoring. This means that even the slightest amount of water waste is detected very quickly.
