Mechanical pipe-joining systems manufacturer Victaulic has announced the availability of its full range of global piping systems and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) products in building information modelling three-dimension or three-dimensional design software MagiCAD, which enables the effective and accurate manufacture of HVAC systems.

Victaulic South Africa regional manager Barry van Jaarsveld tells Engineering News that although the software is designed in Australia, it is perfect for the local HVAC market.

“Victaulic installation-ready technology, which has been designed to address the industry’s need to compress project schedules and remain competitive, is the fastest and safest pipe-joining method currently available.

“It enables installation up to ten times faster than other pipe-joining products and the availability of the complete Victaulic product database in MagiCAD now makes it even easier to reap the many benefits of grooved pipe joining technology,” he notes.

Van Jaarsveld adds that the complete database allows HVAC product engineers to identify and address challenges at design stage.

“It enables engineers to create effective solutions to accommodate system expansion and contraction, as well as reduce noise and vibration. In addition, it helps to increase HVAC system performance, because of the software’s ability to help efficiently integrate products and eliminate installation problems, saving time and improving quality on installation,” he elaborates.

Van Jaarsveld further asserts that, in terms of existing couplings and fittings, the MagiCAD database contains correct dimensions and technical data, enabling users to understand how to use the couplings and fittings more effectively.

He also details that Victualic recently installed an HVAC system at banking group Standard Bank’s head office in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

He adds that they expect more orders from the South African market.

“Given the current state of the rand and the budget constraints in the country, we expect companies to take on board trusted and familiar companies and products when conducting projects, and Victualic has a proven record in the country when it comes to couplings, fittings and accessories,” concludes Van Jaarsveld.
