T he Doosan DV250 S-7 25 t lift truck, which was launched in Korea last year, will be available to the South African market by July, says forklift and lift-truck distributor Goscor Lift Truck Company (GLTC).

“This will create a new market for GLTC, as it is the first time that the company will have a 25 t lift truck in its product range,” says GLTC MD Darryl Shafto.

“Our philosophy has always been to ensure that we reach the widest range of customers and offer them the widest range of solutions. “The new 25 t Doosan machine adds significantly to our ability to do this,” he says.

Further, Shafto explains that the lift truck has a new-generation 7.6 ℓ diesel engine and efficient synchronisation of the drive train with the hydraulic system.

“It has precise ergonomics, with increased comfort and visibility for the user, while its rugged reliability is ensured by high-performance materials and a strong structural design.

“The DV250 S-7 has fewer maintenance requirements, which increases uptime and reduces operating costs,” says Shafto.

He adds that some of the features that make maintenance a more efficient process include automatic tilting, which enables clear and safe access to the key drive-train components.

“It has an easy-access steering-axle grease inlet, ensuring accessibility and ease of grease injection, as well as a large-capacity-transmission oil cooler, which allows the transmission to maintain optimum temperature so that the machine can operate at all times,” he says.

Another key feature of the DV250 S-7 is its comfortable working space for operators.

“An ergonomically designed cab is important for productivity because a comfortable driver is an efficient and productive one,” says Shafto, adding that it has been proved that the comfort of Doosan cabs, exemplified in the cab of the DV250 S-7, enhances driver productivity, which, in turn, decreases downtime and adds to a company’s bottom line.

He notes that the high-powered 7.6 ℓ D08 engine is one of the most fuel-efficient engines that Doosan has produced to date. This 295 PS model is designed and built according to rigorous standards and is used in heavy-duty Doosan construction and warehouse equipment worldwide.

“Further, the lift truck features the oil-cooled disc-brake system, brakes-for-life system, is completely enclosed and eliminates all outside contamination by humid, abrasive or corrosive dust particles.

“The system significantly reduces operating costs and GLTC offers it on a 60-month, unlimited-hours guarantee, which is unique to Doosan,” Shafto adds.

Meanwhile, GLTC reports that it has secured a contract with aluminium foil containers manufacturer Hulamin to supply a series of 60 lift trucks.
“The trucks vary from 4 t to 60 t and will be delivered to the Hulamin facility this year,” he concludes
