Imtech Marine South Africa is proud to announce the brand new EXPLORER BGAN terminal - The EXPLORER 710 - introducing numerous new user-benefits and will be part of a new era of high speed ultra-portable satellite streaming for broadcasting and other IP based industry applications. EXPLORER 710 provides streaming rates over 650 kbps out of the box, when using the new high data rate (HDR) streaming service to be introduced by Inmarsat in Q3 this year. Available in September 2013, EXPLORER 710 enables the fastest on-demand video streaming via satellite with guaranteed QoS.

As the world’s smallest and lightest Class 1 BGAN terminal and the first platform to make use of new HDR streaming as standard, the EXPLORER 710 offers a significant performance boost which will enhance the quality of outside broadcasting and other industry applications. EXPLORER 710 also includes several advanced new features, including the ability to bond the signals from multiple terminals via Ethernet and achieve IP streaming rate at 1.2 Mbps or even higher. This enables the transmission of close to standard definition television video over BGAN. EXPLORER 710 also introduces Smart Phone apps to the world of BGAN connectivity, enabling users to connect their own devices for voice calling and connectivity. Other features include a large LED display, which facilitates set-up and configuration without being connected to a PC, Smart Phone or tablet. Hot swappable batteries are also planned to be included in the final product.
