Cape Town open for business despite water shortage

South African Tourism CEO Sisa Ntshona, Wesgro CEO Tim Harris and Tsogo Sun COO and Tourism Business Council deputy chairperson Ravi Nadasen in February convened in Johannesburg to discuss the Cape Town water crisis and the impact on tourism.

South African Tourism, the Tourism Business Council of South Africa, Wesgro and the Southern African Tourism Services Association have teamed up to mount a campaign to breathe life back into the industry and set a new benchmark, showing that it is possible to remain a high-growth tourist destination.

The worldwide roadshow and campaign will remarket Cape Town as a top destination and inform the world of accurate facts related to the drought.

The video, produced by the parties involved, summarises the key points of the discussions and spread the message that Cape Town’s tourism industry remains open for business despite the water shortages.
