Project Description
The project entails the construction of 2.9 MW solar power plant to power Bloomberg’s Rockland County, New York-based data centre.

The solar plant is expected to generate enough clean energy and reliable electricity each year to offset more than 5% of the data centre’s electricity use.

The project is also expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 11 600 t, equivalent to taking more than 6 800 cars off the road or powering more than 4 400 homes for one year.

SunEdison has signed a power purchase agreement with Bloomberg to power the company’s Rockland County data centre.

SunEdison will supply solar power to Bloomberg through a statewide programme of remote net metering, which enables customers to enjoy the savings and environmental benefits of solar without having to install a system on site, as the system is built in the region where the customers are.

Clean renewable energy is delivered over existing power lines.
