Project Description
The project involves the construction of a 25 MW biomass power plant.

The power plant will generate 185-million kilowatt hours a year of electricity using about 244 000 t/y of primarily sugar cane trash – a residual biomass remaining on the fields after the sugar cane has been harvested.

This will be supplemented with herbaceous and woody energy plants.

The project includes the design, procurement of all components, construction, erection, commissioning and testing of the entire power plant project.

Potential Job Creation
The project will create 675 new jobs at the power plant once completed and a further 2 500 jobs in agriculture.
