The Bailonggang wastewater treatment plant is one of the world’s largest effluent treatment plants and the largest in Asia.

The project entails the construction of a complete drying and incineration system for the wastewater treatment plant.

Upon completion, the expansion project will have an installed capacity of up to 3 000 t/d sludge.

The plant is set to be the world’s largest sludge incineration plant and will serve as a landmark among Chinese environmental projects.

Andritz has been awarded a €120-million contract to supply a complete drying and incineration system for the expansion of the Bailonggang wastewater treatment plant.

The technology supplied by Andritz will include sludge handling, nine fluidised-bed dryers, six EcoFluid bubbling fluidised-bed boiler lines, including the entire flue gas cleaning and full plant automation.

The scope of supply further comprises engineering, manufacturing, delivery, and supervision of installation and commissioning.
