Consulting company Aurecon has appointed Carlos Seara as its Angola country manager, effective March 1.

Seara, who has over two decades of experience in the engineering industry, would succeed Tony Barreto dos Santos who would retire at the end of the year.

A materials technologist by profession, with a bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Malawi, Seara specialised in working with opengraded asphalt and porous asphalt wearing courses using styrene-butadiene-styrene and styrene-butadiene-rubber modified bitumen, and was involved in the strategic highway research programme in Portugal.

He has also worked in other African countries, including Malawi and Swaziland.

“I believe that Seara’s energetic, highly capable approach to handling complex challenges, as well as his financial acumen in dealing with multifaceted projects and their diverse cultural involvement, will be of great benefit to our clients in ensuring that the services we offer are highly competitive and produce the results we all aspire to,” Aurecon Africa West Coast regional manager José Miranda said.
