Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) will sell the Central Eastern Europe (CEE) businesses formerly owned by SABMiller to Japan’s Asahi group for €7.3-billion.

The CEE businesses include those in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania and include beer brands such as Pilsner Urquell, Tyskie, Lecher and Dreier.

As part of its $100-billion acquisition of SABMiller, AB InBev had committed to the European Commission to sell the CEE businesses.

The sale of the CEE businesses to Asahi is expected to close in the first half of 2017.

Asahi had also, earlier this year, bought SABMiller’s Peroni and Grolsch brands.
