Arabia One solar photovoltaic power project, Jordan

Name and Location
Arabia One solar photovoltaic (PV) power project, Ma’an, Jordan.

Client
Arabia One Solar, comprising Ennera Energy and Mobility (40%), Hanwha Engineering & Construction (30%) and Arabia Trading & Consulting (30%).

Project Description
The project forms part of the Jordanian government’s renewable-energy programme, which aims to increase the renewable-energy contribution to 10% of the country’s generation mix by 2020.

The project involves the construction of a 10 MW solar PV plant. The direct current power from the solar panels will be transmitted to an inverter to convert the dc (dc) power into alternating current power, which will be fed into the utility power grid system through a local substation currently under construction.

The project site will have eight zones with PV power arrays using polycrystalline technology. The plant will have 45 192 modules, with a total peak power of 11 523.96 kWp.

The power-conversion station will include a transformer that converts the output to a higher voltage.

Value
