Another Charity Walk For Esquire And Caring Women’s Forum Pretoria

30th April 2015

Company Announcement - Esquire Technologies, together with the Caring Women’s Forum Pretoria, is to host the third charity walk on the 10th May 2015, at the Rosina Sedibane sport grounds in Laudium. Mahomed Cassim, CEO of Esquire Technologies, said:” The annual ‘Walk for a Blanket and Eliminate Hunger’ has been a resounding success, and has alleviated a lot of misery for many disadvantaged people, especially as we start entering winter. This charity drive, aimed at the Laudium community, has become a high point on our annual social responsibility calendar.”

The inaugural walk saw over almost 800 participants, spectators and volunteers taking part in a 5km or 7km walk in and around the suburbs of Laudium to raise funds for the purchase of blankets and to collect canned food for the needy. ”Caring Women’s Forum Pretoria was a big help with the last two charity walks. They will play the same role this year – and their help is, again, most welcomed,” said Cassim.
He said it is very possible that this year’s turnout could pip 1 000 people. “The walk is really gaining in popularity,” he said.

Member of the Caring Women’s Forum Pretoria, Zaheera Mahomed, added: “This charity drive has become an important event for the Laudium community and we hope that, this year, we can even eclipse last year – in terms of the number of blankets and tinned food collected. It definitely makes a difference to a large number of needy people.” The Gift of the Givers and the Caring Women’s Forum Pretoria will again be the beneficiaries. Mr Ahmed Kathrada, a stalwart South African politician and former political prisoner and anti-apartheid activist, will be present for the opening ceremony to assist with the ribbon cutting.
