AIDC hands over tools to SMMEs

The Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC) in collaboration with Gauteng Enterprise Propeller (GEP) assisted the Chamdor Automotive Hub SMMEs to receive a R50 000 grant each towards operating tools in their respective automotive trades.

The initiative is part of AIDC’s SMMEs development in the automotive industry. It is also part of AIDC’s ongoing intervention in addressing the needs of their SMMEs, showing support of their growth and ambitions.

Township Automotive Hubs’ Acting Programme Manager, Mzobanzi Nduku, officially handed over the tools to the SMMEs on Friday, 11 August 2023 at Chamdor Automotive Hub in Krugersdorp.

Nduku says, “we are grateful to have worked with GEP to make this initiative a success. We hope that the equipment will help the SMMEs to offer quality work, and to perform their tasks without errors and delays.”

This initiative is testimony to AIDC’s mandate of transformation and innovation.

Agnes Molapo, founder of SPM TIRES says she is happy to have received more tools to use in her workshop. “I appreciate AIDC for assisting us with these tools. It is now going to be easy and quick for me to work. These will also assist me to be more professional as I now have the required equipment. I’m now going to be using digital for my invoices and quotations, unlike the manual I was using before,” she said.
