Coega Development Corporation (CDC), the operator of the Coega industrial development zone (IDZ) in Nelson Mandela Bay, in the Eastern Cape.

Project Description
The project involves the development of an agroprocessing multiuser facility that will be located in the Coega IDZ.

The 7 800 m2 facility, to be located on 7 ha in Zone 3 of the IDZ, will comprise smaller units ranging from 350 m2 to 1 500 m2 under one roof, with shared communal infrastructure.

The development will include three possible development phases, creating a complex of about 30 000 m2 when completed.

The facility will enable small, micro and medium enterprises, and larger more established companies to expand their processing and value-addition activities in the Eastern Cape.

The project will cost an estimated a R86-million to develop.

Duration
Construction of Phase 1 (7 800 m2) of the facility is expected to start in March.
