Afro Global Youth Exchange launches the 1stInter-African Youth Entrepreneurs Exchange Programme in Africa

1st October 2014

Company Announcement - Afro Global Youth Exchange in partnership with Global Entrepreneurship Week, the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch start-ups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare www.gew.co , will host the 1st Inter-African Youth Entrepreneurs Exchange from November 17— 21, 2014, in Johannesburg, South Africa. The focus of the programme is “Youth Entrepreneurship: Cultivating partnerships for Employment Creation, Economic Growth, and Development in Africa”.

The purpose of the exchange programme is to provide a platform for dialogue, collaboration and partnerships across industries, sectors, countries and regions among youth entrepreneurs in Africa. A major objective of this exchange programme is to cultivate business and social networks as well as examine opportunities and challenges for youth entrepreneurs and governments to work effectively together to promote innovation and achieve scale and momentum for youth employment, economic growth, peace and development in Africa through entrepreneurship. It is envisioned that the exchange programme will help entrepreneurs from various regions and countries across Africa to learn from each other, identify collective responsibilities and opportunities for increased collaboration as well as improve their ability to address their shared problems—problems that affect most of Africa. If successful, collaboration between youth entrepreneurs could increase capacity and help galvanize action for development in Africa.

The Exchange programme, already buzzing on social media, will for this year, bring together at least 250 entrepreneurs, including social entrepreneurs, from all African states, 100 of which will be from South Africa. The mission of the exchange programme is to create a network of pan-African, high potential, emerging leaders across all sectors, working in partnership as catalysts for change in Africa. This programme has had an overwhelming interest and endorsement from over 43 partners locally and additional support from other African Governments and organizations.

The programme will run for 5 (five) days at the Skills Village in Ellis Park, Johannesburg. A call for participation has been announced and closing date for applications is on the 10th of October 2014. All those interested in participating in this event may submit their application forms to applications@agyexchange.co.za
