The Africa Energy Indaba, the continent’s premier energy conference and exhibition, dedicated to advancing Africa's renewable energy development, is set to convene industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, and stakeholders from across the continent and beyond. Given the recent outcomes of the COP28 Summit hosted in Dubai at the end of 2023, a historic result of the event was the adoption of a fossil fuel phase-out agreement, which commits the parties to transition away from fossil fuels in energy systems, in a just, orderly and equitable manner, so as to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Adding to this outcome, the global aim will be to triple renewable energy development and implementation by 2030.
