Abland develops R700m office park in Parktown

Marking the first new office park development in the Parktown node in over ten years, property development company Abland is building a R700-million, 35 000 m2 A-grade office park in the area.

The company expected that the Hill on Empire development, which was strategically positioned on Empire and Hillside road, would see the completion of its first four buildings in June, 2016, with a subdivisible gross lettable area of 6 800 m2.

The office park, which would include green spaces, water features and a coffee shop, would be completed in full by 2019.

The office park also connected with the Rea Vaya bus rapid transit system stop 50 m away, while the closest Gautrain bus stop would be 100 m away. In addition, Empire road was a main route for metro buses and minibus taxis, while also offering good highway access.

“We identified a gap in the market and are delivering a competitive product in an excellent location. Hill on Empire will be comparable to the A-grade offices associated with Sandton and Rosebank, but will come at a more affordable cost of occupancy and with an exceptional ease of access for people who use both private and public transport,” Abland development manager Donald Majola highlighted.

He added that Hill on Empire would feature pedestrian crossings to help people reach their bus stops safely and additional vehicle turning lanes to keep traffic flowing.
