Abidjan Metro – Line 1.

Location
Line 1 will be 37 km long and follow a natural corridor serving 18 stations from the north (Anyama Centre) to the south (airport) of Abidjan, in Côte d’Ivoire.

Project Description
The overground metro will require the construction of 24 bridges, one viaduct over the lagoon, 34 pedestrian footbridges and eight under­passes.

The trains chosen for the line comprise 20 train­sets of five cars each and will be equipped with a next-generation communication-based train control system, which will facilitate improved train regularity and maximum safety.

The Line 1 will be capable of transporting 500 000 passengers a day once completed.
