Nobody would disagree that 2014 has been a difficult year for South Africans. The economy underperformed, the electricity constraints became more visible than ever, and the industrial relations and political climate (notwithstanding a fairly successful election) were hostile, to say the least. The problem is that, when we all start again in 2015, the country’s inbox will remain flooded with many of the same problems faced in 2014.
