Underground employee fatally injured at Bulyanhulu

JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Investigations are under way at gold producer African Barrick Gold’s (ABG’s) Bulyanhulu mine, in Tanzania, after an underground worker was fatally injured in a fall-of-ground incident.

ABG CEO Brad Gordon and the company’s management team expressed their sincere condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased in a statement on Wednesday.

As a sign of respect, the mine stopped operations for 24 hours.
