Client
Tanap Doğalaz İletim.

Project Description
Tanap will deliver gas from natural gas reserves located in the Shah Deniz-2 and other gasfields, in Azerbaijan, and from natural gasfields in countries neighbouring Turkey, to domestic markets.

It will also transport the natural gas to European countries through Turkey.

Tanap will establish a pipeline from the Georgia-Turkey border, traversing the provinces of Ardahan, Kars, Erzurum, Erzincan, Bayburt, GümüG,hane, Giresun, Sivas, Yozgat, KırG,ehir, Kırıkkale, Ankara, EskiG,ehir, Bilecik, Kütahya, Bursa, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Edirne, Tekirda˘g and Kırklareli, and exit at the borders shared with Greece and Bulgaria.

The length of the pipeline within the borders of Turkey to the Türkgözü/Malkoçlar-Bulgaria border is about 1 900 km, with the connection to Greece about 67 km.

Tanap has a terrestrial pipe diameter of 56 inches, and two 36 inch pipes are planned for the marine crossing through the Sea of Marmara. The plan is to build eight compressor stations, with one located at the point of entry and seven along the pipeline.

The other above-ground installations to be built, in addition to the compressor stations, are the pigging stations, block valve stations, offtake stations, cathodic protection systems and the metering station. The temporary construction facilities, such as the camps, pipe storage area, power transmission lines and access roads, will also be required for the construction of the pipeline and all the above-ground installations.

Value
The project is expected to cost $7-billion to complete.

Duration
Tanap is planned to be completed in 2018, with the first 16-billion cubic meters of gas expected in the initial stage in 2019, gradually escalating to 23-billion cubic metres in 2020 and 31-billion cubic metres in 2026.

Latest Developments
The tender notices for the prequalification stage of the onshore pipeline and block valve and pigging stations construction of Tanap were announced in August last year.

The invitations to bid will be made in the first quarter of 2014 and contracts are expected to be awarded in the third quarter of 2014. Construction is expected to start at the end of 2014.
