JSE-listed Protech Kuthele on Tuesday said it had appointed Sebasti Badenhorst as the concrete applications business executive at its readymix division Protech Readymix with immediate effect.

She has 17 years of experience in the construction and materials supply related industries, with her technical and executive skills set having been broadened and deepened in various roles at cement manufacturer Afrisam and construction group Aveng.

Protech indicated that Badenhorst’s appointment complemented the company’s objectives of strategic alignment within the concrete value chain, having held roles in structural engineering design, cement and concrete technology, civil engineering construction and strategic development.

Badenhorst was named the Cement and Concrete Institute’s ‘Concrete Person of the Year’ in 2008. She is a member of the advisory board of the University of Pretoria’s Built Environment faculty and a member of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering.
