Former PPC CEO Paul Struiver on Tuesday resigned from company's board.

This was in line with an announcement in October that Ketso Gordhan would succeed Struiver in his position as head of the company from January 1.

Engineering News Online reported last year that the incoming CEO would continue the cement producer’s African expansion strategy during his five-year contract.

Gordhan, who formerly worked within The Presidency, had an expansive background in both the public and private sectors and across a number of industries, and would accelerate the cement producer’s strategy of expanding into West, East and Central Africa.

The board thanked Struiver for his valuable contribution to the advancement of PPC and wished him well in his retirement.
