Project Description
The project involves the refurbishment of the core equipment of the Nambu Clean Centre, a municipal solid waste (MSW) incineration plant.

The centre incorporates three stoker incinerators, each with a processing capacity of 130 t/d, and can generate
up to 3.5 MW of electricity.

The contract calls for the refurbishment of the incineration plants to extend the centre’s service life by at least 18 years and enhance energy efficiency.

The project includes the replacement or refurbishment of the superannuated facility’s core equipment, used primarily for receiving waste, feeding and incineration, combustion gas cooling, flue-gas treatment, ventilation and ash removal and water supply, as well as electrical and instrumentation systems.

Value
The contract is valued at ¥5.15-billion.

Duration
The work, part of a four-year project, is slated for completion in March 2019.

Latest Developments
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Environmental & Chemical Engineering (MHIEC), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, has received an order from Iwaki City, in Fukushima Prefecture, to refurbish the core equipment of the Nambu Clean Centre.
