Project Description
The metro line will be built on the European line of Istanbul and will establish an east-west public transit axis running through 18 districts of Istanbul and interconnecting four existing tram/metro lines. The project includes the construction and electromechanical works on the 5.3 km Kabatas–Mecidiyekoy line, including stations at Kabatas, Besiktas and Darphane, the second phase of a new Mahmutbey–Kabatas line.

The project will be developed in three phases.

Phase 1 comprises the Mahmutbey–Mecidiyekoy line; Phase 2 Mecidiyekoy–Kabatas; and Phase 3 will comprise the metro vehicles.

Value
The project is estimated at $60-million.

Duration
Phase 1 is expected to be completed by the end of this year and Phase 2 by the end of 2017.

The completion of Phase 3 is yet to be confirmed.
