The project entails the development of a four-line tram covering a distance of 33 km, of which 7 km will be underground, and 37 stations. It is envisaged that the LRT system will be integrated into the Qatar National Railway network, with connections to the Qatar Rail Doha Metro system at Pearl City station and the Al-Khor highway.

Latest Developments
Alstom, as part of a consortium comprising Qatari Diar and Vinci Construction Grands Projets, has been awarded a contract by Qatar Railways to supply a turnkey four-line tram network in Lusail. Alstom’s share of the contract is valued at about €750-million, including options for 32 additional tramways. Alstom will provide Lusail with its fully integrated tramway system, including the design, manufacturing, commissioning and servicing of 35 Citadis tramways, power supply equipment, signalling and trackworks. The Citadis tram for Lusail will be 32 m long.
